The Living Lab Digital Humanities is a physical “workshop” for digital research and education. Researchers, teachers, data experts and software experts can meet, collaborate and exchange knowledge here. The Living Lab also provides opportunities for training and workshops. We want the Living Lab to be a lively meeting place, where people with different expertise come together. A place you go to for technical help, but also if you need inspiration on digital tools and methods, and if you are looking for critical reflection on them. Digital, data-based research requires the combination of different expertises and the Living Lab offers the facilities for that.

The Living Lab Digital Humanities is a collaboration of the University Library and the Centre for Digital Humanities. Hugo Quené, founding director of the Centre for Digital Humanities: “It is important that more teachers and researchers become ‘digitally literate’, so I hope that in the coming years as many teachers and researchers as possible will find their way to the Living Lab.”

Program
The opening event will take place at the Living Lab, with a very limited number of invitees, from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. You can attend the program via a live stream. Speakers this afternoon include Dr. Katell Lavéant (Associate Professor of Humanities) and Prof. Dr. Joris van Eijnatten (Special Professor of Digital History and Director of the Dutch e-Science Center).

The language of the program is Dutch, the livestream can be viewed later with English subtitles.
