This one-day Python workshop is specifically tailored to advanced users who want to deepen their knowledge of the programming language. This is your chance to work directly with the scientific developers from the CDH Research Software Lab with extensive programming experience. Bring your own code and they will gladly help you get ahead in your Python journey.

Practical information

This workshop will take place on Wednesday, 12 February 2025, from 10.00 to 17.00 hours in the Digital Humanities Workspace of the Utrecht University Library, City Centre (room 0.32, Drift 27, Utrecht).

There will be a one-hour break during which lunch is provided in Espressobar Lodewijk (in the University Library) for all participants and instructors of the course. You can specify any dietary preferences you may have in the registration form below.

Level

Prior experience with programming in Python is required. This could mean you participated in the four-day course that the CDH provides, or you got your Python knowledge and experience somewhere else. It is important that you bring your own code for the format of this workshop to be successful. The workshop will be in English.

Preparation

Participants should bring their own laptops. Please prepare your dataset along with a research question ahead of the workshop. Detailed instructions will be sent shortly before the workshop.

For whom?

Due to our funding, priority will be given to teachers, researchers and students of the Faculty of Humanities at Utrecht University for this workshop. If you are affiliated with a different faculty or institution but interested in participating, please register below to be placed on a waiting list. Notification of available spaces will be sent shortly before the workshop.
