Workshop: Getting started with Qualtrics
This hands-on workshop is designed for researchers and advanced students who want to get familiar with basic survey data analysis using Qualtrics (here for students). Across two interactive afternoon sessions, statistics advisor Kirsten Schutter and developer Tijmen Baarda will guide you step-by-step through the process of building a survey.
The workshop offers a practical introduction to the technical tools and features that make Qualtrics a powerful platform for data collection. Participants will also receive a short introduction to quantitative methodology and an accessible demonstration of how to inspect and explore their collected data using R or JASP. Note that we will not address how to design and formulate survey questions.
We encourage participants to bring their own surveys—either in development or already created. Surveys can also be submitted in advance or between the two sessions. This will allow the instructors to address specific questions, troubleshoot individual issues, and provide tailored guidance during the workshop.
By the end of the second workshop, participants will be able to confidently build surveys in Qualtrics and perform a first glance at their collected data in R or JASP.
Practical information
This course will be split into two sessions:
Part 1 on Thursday 28 May from 09:30 to 12:30;
Part 2 on Thursday 11 June from 09:30 to 12:30.
The location for both workshops will be the Digital Humanities Workspace of the Utrecht University Library, City Centre (room 0.32, Drift 27, Utrecht).
Level

- have gained access to the UU Qualtrics site (go here to learn how);
- have installed R and/or JASP: see here and/or here.
