Weekly CDH Walk-in Hours resuming on September 7th
Starting Thursday, September 7th, from 14:00 to 15:00 hrs, we’re resuming our CDH Walk-in Hours. During these weekly consultation sessions, all humanities staff and students are welcome to ask their Digital Humanities (DH) questions, ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
Our advisory team comprises a scientific developer from the Research Software Lab, a member from Research Data Management (RDM) Support and a DH specialist from the University Library. Particularly, if you are struggling with the quantitative aspects of your research design, please note that on September 28th and November 23th, statistical advisor Kirsten Schutter will also be available to address your questions.
During the Walk-in Hours, we can assist with various aspects, including:
- how to analyze your data with R or Python;
- creating and sharing datasets, or data security;
- the technical component of your research proposal (including funding);
- finding suitable existing research software, or developing new tailor-made applications;
- how to optimize your self-written code;
- acquiring, archiving, and accessing both qualitative and quantitative data;
- using digital humanities methods in education;
- automatic optical character or handwriting recognition;
- digitized full-text corpora and Linked Open Data;
- your quantitative research design, and which methods and statistical analysis to use.
