Data School joins Katapult consortium Data and Knowledge Hub Healthy Urban Living
Over the next four years, Data School will be participating in the Katapult consortium Data and Knowledge Hub Healthy Urban Living. The hub is an independent and open public-private platform initiated by Utrecht University, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the Economic Board Utrecht. Together with several other partners, as well as residents, the consortium will develop scientific and data-driven concepts and measures: evidence-based products and services that have a positive effect on the health of everyone who lives, works or recreates in an urban environment.
In this fast-changing world, there is a growing group of individuals who find it challenging to keep up with digital advancements. The utilization of ‘smart home’ software at home, navigating digital environments at work, and the multitude of algorithm-related controversies in the news—it’s a lot to comprehend, and this understanding doesn’t come naturally. For their part in the project, the Data School will therefore focus on promoting digital literacy through adapting and expanding their existing Education for Professionals course programs to make them accessible to a wider cross-section of society.
