On 7 November, the Utrecht University (UU) focus area Governing the Digital Society and Kennisnet are co-organising the symposium Digital autonomy in education, a public responsibility. The symposium focuses on the growing role of Big Tech AI in public education and the need for autonomy. It will take place at the Belle van Zuylenzaal in the Utrecht University Hall (Academiegebouw).

Keynotes will be given by University of Edinburgh’s Ben Williamson, and Utrecht University’s Anne Helmond and Niels Kerssens.

The symposium aims to bring together researchers, school leaders, teachers, educators and policymakers. Admission is free.
